Over its forty-year experience in decorative painting, portraiture, sculpture, and theatre set design, Palma Fine Art has been the place for art to blossom as a commission-based craft.
About the company
Art today has been subject to significant shifts and turns of tide: the way lived and perceived experience impress themselves upon us has been radically restructured, and our creative horizon has been redesigned by new representational approaches.
At a time when technology allows for a swamping proliferation of images of art - as high quality as they may be - our techniques are an inquiry into their own dissolution. This constant flux of “technoimages” satisfies us in its accessibility, quality, and abundance, yet intimately dumbfounds us and renders us immune to the true fascination of the great beauty of the past.
The experience of art, filtered rather than directly experienced, begins and ends with a convulsive click through which perception is dulled and faded. Our artistic research wants to recover the physicality of these impalpable images, returning them to a world of conscious vulnerability wherein technical gesture and matter become a primordial cell for the work art and, at once, its mortal coil.
